i enjoy the valuable intelligence, humor, and "community" it provides.. question:.

it appears that a non-jw guy is "off limits" to a jw girl-gal.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that dating should only happen when one has an intention of getting married, it is not something that is done for recreation purposes. When it comes to Dating and ulimately marriage, JW's follow the words of 2 Corinthians 6:14 " Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"

Although they will not say it to your face, you as a non Witness are an unbeliever and are unrighteous and lawless or at the very least, capable of these thigs at any moment and will ultimately pull the JW into your unbelieving ways.

JW parents view the marriage of their Son or Daughter to a non Witness as a catastrophe second only to death or being disfellowshipped. The girl you are interested in is likely being warned not to be swayed by your cunning worldly ways and that even though you may seem like a nice guy you don't love Jehovah and are therefore under the influence of Satan as is the rest of the world. This is not an exaggeration. They will site the experience of Dinah in Genesis Chapter 34 as an example of the disastrous things that can happen when one of God's followers trusts an unbeliever.

Silent And Sweet Rebellion Going On Within JW Organization!

after 1975, the vast majority remained as though nothing has happened.

but some left the organization.

however, there arose a third category who did not leave the organization, but brought a new view into their heart: jws are right in their core cause (gods kingdom as the solution to mankinds problems) but may or may not be right in their supplementary teachings, hence are not bothered about changes happening in this unimportant area..

I support the organization in its essence (not its details in which I have my own choices). Kingdom and Kingdom qualities are not cherry picking—they are absolute truth (if practised makes your life light giving only benefits to you and those around you)

Lately the governing Body has stressed the importance of obeying their direction even if it seems illogical to you as an individual. He that is faithful in the little things is faithful in the great things.

As I said in my comment in your last post, you should raise your had in the meeting and make the comments you make here and we'll see how long you and your group of free thinkers lasts.

Wait until you loose a family member over the blood issue, as I did and we'll see how quickly you change your tune about the "essence" of the Organization.

Brother Tim Horton, the new service overseer

stopped in tim horton's ( a donut shop) at 10:00 a m today and there were no less than 12 jws in there from three different car groups.

it took about 25-30 minutes for them all to get their orders and get on their way.

that's almost 6 hours of service time in the glorious 'ministry'.

Maybe this deserves its own thread but what always gets me is that dubs feel the end is coming NOW....NOW...wait NOW...

But, they live their lives, at least those in my area, as if they don't believe it so much. Coffee breaks? Serioulsy? The people that don't accept your message are going to die and you're having a coffee break?

Right after the 2014 International Assembly my brother announced the following on his Facebook. "What an amazing Assembly program that was....we are truly living in Momentous times my Brothers ! Dainel's prophesy (legs of iron...feet of clay etc.) is about to be fulfilled " . He received many "likes" and gushing comments from other JW"s about the assembly and about paradise being so close.

A few days later he went on his twice yearly month long vacation, this time he was touring all over Europe. He posted pictures every day of all the places he and his 3rd JW wife were visiting. I had to laugh when one of his JW facebook friends (an older sister) said that she was enjoying his pictures but asked if he and his wife are taking time to join in the ministry. This comment was met with silence on my brothers part. But I "Liked " her comment. (couldn't resist)

Between the glazed look on the householders faces and the holes in their doctrines, it's only natural that JW's would gravitate towards the nearest donut shop when they're out in service.

if you are not politically correct, you will need to apologize for some perceived slight.. when i was an elder, i purposely avoided as much as i could, anybody that got easily offended.

JWs have more good points than bad

1) many who were on the destructive path have been transformed by their teachings (this includes me who was once vicious, and presumptuous and atheistic).

2) equal monthly pay to all members of the bethel community regardless of whether they are bc members or sweepers.

this is something that still remains as an unattainable dream for the world.

I am not just believing this faith of good news of the new world, but already living this faith.

Faith is a word that is often used to feel ok about ourselves when our mind is closed and we have given up or can't be bothered looking any further.

For me new world is not just a promise to be realized in the future; I have made it a reality in my mind.

Sometimes we need delusions to keep us going. People who can successfully delude themselves until they come to grips with reality, often appear happier than the people who can’t.

Raise your hand at the meeting and say the things you've said in your posts so far and admit that you are a regular visitor of this site and you'll be seeing the good qualities of Jehovah's Witnesses from a seat in the back room, right after the song and prayer. Don't forget to mention that thing you said about not going along with their shunning policy. They'll be interested to hear about that.

P.S. Many a lost person has turned their life around by joining an organization...any organization. (Boy Scouts, AA even Scientology )

As far as reading the daily text goes, remember Chairman Mao's "little red book" is considered one of the most printed and widely distributed books in history. (6.5 billion) and was mandatory reading for the Communist party and the military and it was unofficially mandatory for all Chinese citizens to own and carry a copy of the book. Organized daily indoctrination is standard fare among high control groups.

As a Bethelite I saw the equality you speak of, from the sidewalk while trudging through the snow on the way to the meeting which was a 45min subway ride into a dangerous neighborhood while the higer-ups passed us by in black Lincoln Town Cars.

It doesn't matter what happens because anything can be interpreted in a positive way. If Jehovah sees fit to downsize his organization then the preaching work must be complete and the end is imminent.

JW's have no trouble looking forward with glee, to the whole human race being "downsized" so I guess a layoff of a few Bethelites is easy to turn a blind eye to.

Do you think your family member may have meant that a letter was to be read to the Bethel Family about the downsizing rather than at the congregation level?

London Bethelites Living on Their Nerves?

just got home and received information from a source regarding london bethel: .

a bethel couple told my source that they are getting rid of about 20/25 bethelites every week and that if they are to go, they will get called in on a friday and given their leaving date.everyone is "on edge" and hoping that if they get the boot, they've got time to make alternative plans.. perhaps bethelites everywhere should apply this scripture, by looking for a job and accommodation now - and then just resign from their "vow of poverty" without giving advance warning.

(proverbs 22:3) "the shrewd one sees the danger and conceals himself, but the inexperienced keep right on going and suffer the consequences.".

so i don't see why in time they cant be giving out watchtowers and awakes that are nine years old.

I agree, they've covered every imaginable Bible topic over the years....why don't they lay off most of the writing staff and just re-use what they've already got on file. No one will even notice.
